This was a lovely book to read with fantastic, colourful pictures. The idea of a Grandma as a ninja had my children grinning from ear to ear and both will want to read this again. A grandma zip- lining so fast that it blew people’s trousers off had us laughing out loud at the accompanying image. I liked the message the story was putting across, that you shouldn’t ask people to change who they are. The ending was also good and both children would like to read My Grandma’s a pirate if released. Highly recommended.

A reassuring and hilarious look at a child s trepidation about meeting his first babysitter then realizing he adores her! When Ollie s parents hire a babysitter, Ollie s cuddle buddy Stubbs imagines the worst: what if the babysitter sprays them with stinky perfume . . . what if the babysitter only cooks yucky green vegetables? But when Ollie and Stubbs meet Ella . . . what happens next just might surprise you! Anke Wagner s pitch-perfect story and Anne-Kathrin Behl s humorous illustrations will comfort and entertain!"

My children enjoyed this book and found it hilarious, especially when Stubbs imagined the babysitter as a witch who would drag him around the room by his hair, weird, I know but this is just my children’s sense of humour. The pictures were bright and colourful and were interesting because of the extra details in the background.
Both children thought the idea of a fun babysitter who made pirate spaghetti brilliant, Ella would be the perfect babysitter for any children. This was an entertaining read with lovely illustration and I recommend it to any parent about to venture on a night out, especially if they have children who might be a little apprehensive about a night without their usual guardians. One child would definitely pick this book up to read again, the other thought she might be too busy reading a different book.
